The editorial board of the journal Vremennik Pushkinskoy komissii adheres to high standards of publication ethics and strives to prevent any form of violation of these standards. These principles are based on the recommendations of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and the experience of leading academic publications in the field of humanities. This policy applies to authors, reviewers, members of the editorial board and editors.

  1. Ethical obligations of authors

Originality and academic integrity:

Authors guarantee that the submitted manuscript is the result of their original research and has not been previously published in whole or in part in other publications.

All borrowings from the works of other authors (including texts, ideas, concepts, data) should be formatted as citations and provided with appropriate references to the source.

Any forms of plagiarism (direct copying of text without indicating the author, paraphrase without reference to the source, self-plagiarism without permission of the editors) are unacceptable.

Authorship:

The list of authors should include only individuals who have made a significant intellectual contribution to the study.

All co-authors must have reviewed the final version of the article and have given their consent for its submission to the journal.

Authors must indicate the sources of funding for the study, if any.

Conflict of Interest:

Authors must disclose any potential conflicts of interest (financial, scientific, personal) that might be perceived as influencing the results or conclusions of their work.

Correctness and Errors:

If an author discovers a significant error in an already published article, he/she must promptly notify the editor and cooperate with them to correct the error, retract the article, or publish a retraction.

  1. Ethical Obligations of Reviewers

Confidentiality:

A manuscript received for review is a confidential document. A reviewer has no right to discuss it with third parties or use information obtained from it for their own purposes until its publication.

Objectivity and impartiality:

The review must be objective. Criticism of the author’s personality is unacceptable. All comments must be substantiated and aimed at improving the quality of the article.

The reviewer must refuse to evaluate the manuscript if there is a conflict of interest (e.g., personal or professional relationship with the author, direct competition in the scientific field).

Timeliness:

The reviewer who has accepted the manuscript for evaluation undertakes to provide a review within the time period agreed upon with the editors. If this is not possible, the reviewer must promptly notify the editors.

  1. Ethical Obligations of the Editorial Board and Editorial Staff

Making Editorial Decisions:

The editor is responsible for deciding whether to publish or reject submitted manuscripts based on their scientific merit, originality, clarity of presentation, and relevance to the scope of the journal.

The decision is made on the basis of double-blind peer review and the opinion of the editorial board members.

Impartiality and Confidentiality:

The editor and members of the editorial board should evaluate manuscripts solely on their academic merits, without any discrimination based on the author’s race, gender, religion, nationality, or political affiliation.

Information about the submitted manuscript is disclosed only to the author, reviewers, and members of the editorial board.

Transparency and Conflict Resolution:

The editors undertake to promptly respond to complaints regarding the ethical aspects of submitted or published materials.

In the event of a violation of publication ethics, the editors will take all necessary measures, including retraction of the article, publication of a retraction (erratum), and a ban on publication for the violator.

Conflict of Interest:

Editors and members of the editorial board are required to avoid conflicts of interest when working with manuscripts. If such a conflict arises, they must transfer the manuscript to another editor or reviewer.
