В статье рассматривается генеалогия и аппликации приписываемой А. С. Пушкину эпиграммы «Господи Иисусе Христе! / Ты спас вора на кресте…». Показано, что эту эпиграмму, связываемую в литературном предании с Михайловским периодом жизни поэта, следует отнести к ряду «мнимых» или «устных» поэтических высказываний поэта, восходящих к традиции «тенденциозного» или «оскорбительного» (во фрейдовской интерпретации) французского острословия и приобретающих «реальность» в практической (идеологической, политической, «воровской») инструментализации пушкинского имени и творчества.

PUSHKIN AND THE POGROM: The Story of the Poet’s “Oral Epigram”

The article reconstructs the genealogy and applications of the epigram attributed to A. S. Pushkin, “Lord Jesus Christ! / You saved the thief on the cross…”. The author shows that this epigram — traditionally associated in literary lore with the Mikhailovskoye period of the poet’s life — should be regarded as one of the “spurious” or “oral” poetic statements attributed to Pushkin. These belong to the tradition of “tendentious” or “offensive” (in the Freudian sense) French witticism and acquire “reality” through the practical (ideological, political, or “thievish”) instrumentalization of Pushkin’s name and creative legacy.
