Пушкинское стихотворение «Моя родословная», дошедшее до нас в двух беловых автографах (раннем неполном и позднем полном, посланном Бенкендорфу) и ряде копий, всегда печатается по наиболее позднему автографу. Такова обычная эдиционная практика, отдающая приоритет автографу и последней авторской редакции. Однако выполненный в статье анализ разночтений копий с автографом и истории бытования не опубликованного при жизни Пушкина текста приводит к выводу о том, что в данном случае предпочтение должно быть отдано редакции, отраженной в копиях, и именно по ней нужно печатать пушкинский текст.

ON THE JUSTIFICATION FOR VIOLATING ACADEMIC TRADITIONS OF PUBLISHING: The Case of “My Ancestry”

Pushkin’s poem “My Ancestry”, which has survived in two autograph manuscripts — an early incomplete version and a later complete one sent to Benkendorf — as well as in several copies, is traditionally published according to the most recent autograph. This practice aligns with standard editorial conventions that prioritize the autograph and the final authorial revision. However, the analysis presented in this article of the discrepancies between the copies and the autograph, as well as the historical context of the poem not published during Pushkin’s lifetime, leads to the conclusion that, in this case, the version refl ected in the copies should be preferred, and published editions should be based on it.
