The article discusses the history of the Dolgov’s Prayer House, founded at the end of the 18th century on Mokhovaya Street in St. Petersburg by the eminent citizen Ivan Feoktistovich Dolgov (Dolgoi, Dolgiy) (1734—1799). During the relatively short period of existence from the end of the 18th to the middle of the 19th century, the building of the Prayer House was rebuilt and its interior decoration changed. From the moment of the foundation of the Prayer House, the St. Petersburg Old Believers maintained close relations with the Pomorian community on the Vyg. Liturgical utensils, products of workshops and manuscripts were delivered to St. Petersburg from Vyg. With the transfer of the Prayer House to the management of Fyodor Petrovich Babushkin, contacts with Vyg became stronger. Until 1836, the Prayer House was considered the possession of the coenobia. In 1841, under the conditions of increased government pressure on the Old Believers, Dolgov’s heiress Natalia Galashevskaya was forced to sell the house on Mokhovaya to the merchant Dmitry Nazarovich Pikkiev. However, this step only temporarily postponed the closure and destruction of the Prayer House. An analysis of the materials of the government investigation into the Pomorians, during which an inventory was made and property from the Prayer House was confiscated, allows the author of the article to consider the scale of the ktitor activities of Ivan Feoktistovich Dolgov and his successors. To solve this question, the author refers to the inventories of icons and books found in the Prayer House. An appendix contains the text of the deed of sale for Dolgov’s house, an inventory of the house building with a Prayer House and a register of books seized from the Pomorians.
